Terms of Service — Window Seat Award Travel
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
These terms explain how I work, what you can expect from me, and what I expect from you. By submitting a research request or paying the deposit, you agree to them. Please read them. If anything is unclear, ask me before you start.
In these terms, "I," "me," and "my" mean the sole operator of Window Seat Award Travel (short wordmark: Window Seat). "You" and "your" mean the person submitting a request. This is a solo, one-person service. There is no team.
1. What this service is
I am an independent, one-person award-travel research service. You tell me where you want to go, when, and what points and miles you have. I research options across the major transferable-points banks and the airline and hotel programs they feed, and I deliver 2 to 3 strong options with exact, step-by-step booking instructions.
What you get is research and instructions: a clear plan you can act on, showing the points cost, the transfer path, and the steps to book. The standard deliverable shows flights, hotels, or both, depending on the tier you choose.
2. What this service is not
So we are on the same page from the start:
- I am not a travel agency, a tour operator, or an airline or hotel. I do not sell tickets, rooms, or travel packages.
- I am not your financial, tax, or legal advisor, and nothing I send is financial advice.
- I am not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any bank, airline, hotel, or loyalty program. Program names are used only to describe what I research.
- I do not control award availability, point values, transfer ratios, fees, taxes, or program rules. Those belong to the airlines, hotels, and banks, and they can change at any time, including between when I deliver options and when you try to book.
- Unless you buy the full booking add-on, I do not book anything for you. The research is a plan; you carry it out.
3. Pricing
My research fees depend on the trip:
- Simple — $300: economy, 1 to 2 people, one destination.
- Premium — $500: business or first class, 1 to 2 people.
- Complex — $750: families of 4 or more, multi-city, or hard-to-route trips.
- Hotel-only — $200: hotel research only.
Add-ons:
- Full booking — +$200: I make the reservations for you (see Section 9).
- 24-hour rush — +$100: faster turnaround (see Section 6).
- Multi-city or open-jaw routing — +$150: applies to Simple or Premium requests. This is already included in the Complex tier.
Every tier includes 2 to 3 curated options with detailed booking instructions. I confirm your tier and any add-ons in writing before I begin the paid search, so you always know the total before you commit. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change for future requests; the price I confirm to you for your request is the price that applies to that request.
4. The $75 deposit, stated plainly
A $75 deposit begins your search. Here is exactly how it works:
- The deposit pays for the search itself — the time and expertise I spend looking.
- If I find viable options worth booking, the $75 is credited toward your tier fee. You only owe the remainder. (Example: a $300 Simple trip means $75 at the start and $225 after delivery.)
- If I genuinely cannot find viable options, you owe nothing further, but the $75 is not refunded, because it paid for the work I did.
The deposit is not a holding fee or a placeholder. It is payment for the research effort, win or lose. I will always tell you honestly whether I found something worth booking.
5. Payments (through Whop)
Payments are collected through Whop (whop.com), not Stripe.
- The $75 deposit is paid through a Whop checkout when you start.
- The remaining tier fee (and any add-ons) is charged through Whop after I deliver your options.
Whop handles the actual payment processing and its own terms apply to that processing. I do not store your full card details. By paying, you authorize the charges described in these terms and confirmed for your request.
6. Turnaround
Standard turnaround is 48 to 72 hours from the time I confirm your request and receive your deposit. If you need it faster, the 24-hour rush add-on (+$100) is available when you ask for it up front.
These are good-faith targets, not guarantees. Complex trips, missing information, or slow back-and-forth on details can extend the timeline. If I expect a delay, I will tell you.
7. I screen requests and may decline
I only take requests I believe I can genuinely help with. I review every request before starting paid work, and I may decline if a trip is not a good fit — for example, very last-minute travel, far too few points for the goal, expectations that award space cannot meet, or destinations with extremely limited availability.
If I decline before you pay the deposit, you owe nothing. Declining is part of how I protect the quality of what I deliver; it is not a judgment of you.
8. No guarantee of results
This is important. I cannot and do not guarantee any specific result.
Award space is limited, shared, and constantly changing. A seat or room that exists when I research it can disappear minutes or hours later. Programs change point values, transfer ratios, fees, and rules without notice. Because of this:
- I do not promise a specific flight, cabin, hotel, date, route, points price, or cash savings.
- I do not promise that any option I deliver will still be available when you go to book.
- Examples, sample results, and illustrations are for illustration only and are not promises of what your trip will cost or look like.
What I promise is honest, careful research and clear instructions based on what I can see at the time I do the work.
9. Your responsibilities
To get the best result, you agree to:
- Give me accurate, complete information about your trip, dates, travelers, and the points and miles you actually hold.
- Verify everything before you act. Confirm availability, points cost, fees, taxes, transfer ratios, baggage rules, change and cancellation policies, passport and visa requirements, and any other detail directly with the airline, hotel, or bank before transferring points or booking.
- Book promptly. Award space moves fast. If you wait, the options I deliver may no longer be there, and that is outside my control.
- Make your own transfers and bookings (unless you have purchased the full booking add-on), and review any reservation I make on your behalf as soon as I deliver it.
The full booking add-on (+$200): if you buy it, I will make reservations for you using information you provide and the options you approve. Even then, you remain responsible for confirming the final reservation is correct and for any program rules that apply. I never need your account logins. I will either walk you through the booking step by step, or arrange it in a way that does not require me to hold your usernames or passwords. If anyone ever asks you for your loyalty or bank logins claiming to be me, it is not me.
10. Cancellation and refunds
- Once I have started the paid search, the $75 deposit is non-refundable, because it pays for that work. This is true whether or not viable options are found (see Section 4).
- If you cancel before I begin the search, I will refund the deposit, less any third-party processing fees that cannot be recovered.
- The remaining tier fee is charged after delivery and is for the research and instructions I provide, not for any travel outcome. Because award space and prices are outside my control, fees are not refunded based on availability changing, a program devaluing, or you choosing not to book.
- If I make a clear error in the research I deliver, tell me and I will correct it at no extra charge. Beyond that, refunds are at my discretion and handled in good faith, case by case.
Whop's own refund mechanics and timing apply to any refund that is issued.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law:
- My total liability to you for any claim arising from your request is limited to the amount you actually paid me for that request.
- I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost points, missed trips, lost savings, price or availability changes, fees or taxes charged by third parties, or decisions made by airlines, hotels, banks, or loyalty programs.
- I am not responsible for the acts, errors, omissions, rule changes, devaluations, or service failures of any airline, hotel, bank, payment processor, or loyalty program.
- The service is provided "as is," based on the information available to me at the time I do the work.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Intellectual property
The research, write-ups, and booking instructions I deliver are for your personal use for the trip you requested. Please do not resell, republish, or redistribute them. My methods, templates, and materials remain mine.
13. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect when you submit a request governs that request. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [GOVERNING STATE], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located in [GOVERNING STATE].
